The thing slowing your business down probably has your name on it.
Hola a todos,
At our Dallas-Fort Worth recorrido por el almacén, our moderator Colin asked the panel a simple question: what’s the number one constraint in your business right now?
Cam Petty jumped right in: “I’m the bottleneck to my company.”
After nearly 7 years at Goodshuffle, it’s probably the most common bottleneck I see hurting a business’s ability to grow: you, the owner. You built the business. You know the inventory, you hold most of the client relationships, and all of that means more lands on your plate than anyone else’s.
Watch Cam’s all too relatable story, here:
Your constraint might be you. Cam’s fix isn’t more hours. It’s getting things off her plate, and that comes down to systems and SOPs that quietly went stale while the company grew. Her words: things worked for a while, then you grew, and now they don’t.
Or it might be one step in your sales process. Liz Curlin noticed drape quotes took far longer to turn around than rental quotes, and that lag was landing on the client. She split Vertical 360 out from Party! Dallas Rentals so the two could run on their own timelines. One choke point, one structural fix.
Or it might be the four walls. When Melissa Teague ran her own rental company, her constraint was space, full stop. Hard to scale, hard to manage inventory. Worth saying plainly: sometimes the answer is a bigger lease.
So what’s yours? And more importantly, what’s your named plan to change it?
If it’s you, there are hundreds of Goodshuffle Pro users who felt the same before they put systems in place that enabled them to scale. Here’s one more from Luna Tolunay: building an operation her clients don’t need her for.
If you’re struggling to figure out your next level of growth, email me back and let’s uncover how you can accomplish next level growth before the fall events season picks up!
Nos vemos el próximo lunes,
Mallory Mullen
