Why Goodshuffle Pro’s QuickBooks Online for Event Pros is the Most Secure on the Market

At Goodshuffle Pro, we understand that security is an incredibly important part of your business. It’s extremely important to us, too. That’s why we’ve gone the extra mile to ensure that you and your clients’ data are kept safe, and will not provide any integrations with companies who do not also place a high priority on security. This is where QuickBooks Online for event pros comes into play.

There are many potential vulnerabilities that exist when you move and store data online. No one wants a data breach, but if you follow the news, you know that they happen. The unfortunate thing is that many breaches can be avoided by implementing responsible security protocols. We start at the ground level and work our way up to maintain top-notch security for your data.

The Audit

Every year, Goodshuffle Pro undergoes a rigorous security audit with Intuit (QuickBooks Online’s parent company) to ensure that we meet their highest standards for data security. While this audit is voluntary, it is the only way to become certified by Intuit. We knew right away that we wanted that certification as part of our integration, so we have gone the extra mile to ensure our security standards are up to snuff. It’s part of what makes our software unique. Today, I will briefly walk you through the annual security audit and I think you’ll see why Goodshuffle Pro has the most secure Quickbooks Online Integration

Server Security

At Goodshuffle Pro, we started out with a systems-hardened security configuration for our servers, but we also keep all of our operating systems and web server security patches up to date (side note: system updates and patches are very important, so we encourage you to maintain those on your own devices, as well). When new patches are released, we update our software ASAP in order to head off any new vulnerabilities that may arise. This is the foundation for server security— start with a solid foundation and then maintain it.

We also disable any insecure HTTP methods and exclusively use HTTPS on all pages of Goodshuffle Pro. What is the difference between the two? Put simply, HTTPS is secure because it authenticates websites and encrypts transmitted data; HTTP does not. HTTPS also utilizes TLS (or Transport Layer Security), which provides another layer of security when data is being transmitted between two websites.

Cookies, Caches, and Tokens

We see cookie notifications all over the web these days, and for good reason: cookies are the best way for companies to keep track of you. They tell websites if you’re logged in, what pages you visit and for how long, if you click on any ads, etc. Part of Intuit’s Security Audit examines what we at Goodshuffle Pro keep track of and how we protect client information. It certifies that our tokens and cookies are kept secure and private, and that any caches are disabled on pages with secured data.

Web Vulnerabilities

We go above and beyond to protect our sites and applications from falling victim to hackers. This includes testing for Cross Site Scripting Vulnerabilities, SQL and XML Injection Vulnerabilities, and Cross Site Request Forgery Vulnerabilities. This means that our system has undergone rigorous tests that check for any weak spots and, if any are found, they are corrected immediately.

Goodshuffle Pro Access

Finally, we do not store any data that is not required to run the QuickBooks Online Integration, nor do we allow any third party access to client Quickbooks Online data. Our goal is functional, secure software to make our clients’ lives simpler and easier. That’s it.

Now You Know

QuickBooks Online for event pros is the best option for your business. While this post has a lot of technical jargon that may not make sense to the average user, that’s okay. Another way to think of it is that we put in a lot of effort into ensuring that our event software is safe and secure from the ground up. The fact that we apply for and receive Inuit’s annual certification every single year acts as a third-party verification of our security claims— that way, you don’t just have to take our word for it.
